Dominique Desbiens studied graphic design in the early 1990s, during which time he founded Amérisque Editions and published the magazine Exil in collaboration with Quebecois comic book artists. He was then published by Les 400 coups, illustrating the graphic novel Théogonie (winner of the 2001 Bédélys d'argent award) and as an author with the art book Il manque aux humains un prédateur.

Since the 2000s, Desbiens has been creating murals in various neighbourhoods of the city, notably with MU, has participated in several public live painting performances, and has exhibited with numerous artist collectives.

In 2011, he founded and co-organized the XL Art Montreal project, a series of large-scale art exhibitions featuring Montreal visual artists active on the local and international scene.
